In response to rising suicide rates, instances of bullying, and mental health challenges faced by many in our county, the Kankakee Area Jaycees launched #InspireKankakee in September of 2019 and joined the global “Don’t Give Up Movement” to spread messages of hope and love!
Through donations we were able to raise funds to purchase 70 inspirational yard signs to place around our communities. The signs feature positive messages such as Don’t Give Up, You Are Enough, It’s Not Too Late, You Are Not Alone, You Matter, Your Mistakes Don’t Define You, and You Are Worthy of Love. These simple, kind words, in the right place at the right time, can make a powerful impact.
#InspireKankakee is about preventing someone from taking their life, and inspiring courage for people to leave abusive relationships, overcome addiction, make severe health transitions, endure the loss of a loved one, recover from sexual assault, and overcome bullying. Life is messy, but we’re in this together!

Are you ready to #InspireKankakee?
The Kankakee Area Jaycees will again be joining the global “Don’t Give Up” movement with our Inspire Kankakee project.
#InspireKankakee is not just about suicide prevention and awareness, but also about supporting those who are bullied or face mental health challenges. It is about inspiring courage for people to leave abusive relationships, overcome addiction, make severe health transitions, endure the loss of a loved one, recover from sexual assault, and overcome other hardships. Life is messy, but we’re in this together!
We are currently raising funds to replace signs and stakes that were damaged or went missing during last year’s project. Help make hope tangible by making an online donation today!
